What’s the difference between French doors and patio doors?
- The main difference between patio doors and French doors is how they open.
- French doors open outwards on a hinge whereas patio doors slide along a track and open to the side.
- Patio doors are more modern in appearance and therefore best suited to modern & contemporary properties.
- French doors add a charming, quintessential country garden touch to your home
- The extensive opening allows unrestricted access, whilst maximising light and ventilation into your home.
- They serve as a practical entry into a conservatory, garden or patio and are perfect for prolonging summer evenings by bringing the outside in when the sun goes down.
- The uPVC French doors are also perfect for internal and external use in garden rooms and conservatories.

I would highly recommend. We have just had all of the windows and cladding replaced by Progress Windows Hinckley. A brilliant service from Derek who did the initial quote, the sales team who kept us well informed. We would like also to praise Troy and Ethan who carried out the work on our property, they were extremely polite, courteous and respectful when coming into the house as we have three very young kittens. Their professionalism, workmanship and attention to detail was second to non the whole process ran very smoothly, we are extremely pleased with the final outcome. Thank you all at Progress. I would highly recommend.Andy & Tracey
Our experience with Progress Windows is very positive, right from our 1st enquiry for replacement units. The price was more than competitive. The time frame from signing the work contract to completion was very minimal and all work was completed inside three days. Great lads, who were considerate to our needs and cleaned up as they went along. Overall, a great product and service from all at Progress Windows. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve their homes.
Just had new windows fitted on a property by progress, couldn’t recommend them enough! Brilliant customer service, fitters were lovely, polite and tidied up as they went along. Aftercare team were brill checking everything was okay and I was happy. Would definitely recommend them for your window and doors.
This is the second time I've used Progress Windows and unfortunately the last. This comes after two other family members have used their service too.We had a full house refit with new windows and doors, destruction to the main bedroom, missing window keys and missing window board end caps aside, we've been left with a cracked main bedroom window. The fitter who installed the glass left on the Thursday over two weeks ago and all he said on leaving was that the glass would be ready "tomorrow" and they'd fit it the following week. Two weeks have passed and despite multiple promises of phone calls from the managing director, which never materialised, I am still completely in the dark with regards to when this will be fixed. The only upside is I'm yet to pay, clearly they must have a lot of business as they're certainly in no rush to fix my problem and take payment. The end product is great, but the poor customer service has been a deal breaker.
